7 Skills That Will Make You Rich

7 Skills That Will Make You Rich -  Have you heard that lack of money is a bit of a problem? You know what? Lack of money is never a problem. What I mean by that is that lack of money is only a symptom of the problem, but it is not the cause. The real problem is the need for more skills.

Have you heard stories about lottery winners who suddenly won millions of dollars in their life, only to find themselves a few years later broke? In fact, sometimes, it's worse when they are financial.

Well, why is that? They have money, but they need to gain the skills of the rich. I'm rich. Not because of my money, because I started without money. I owe. I owe hundreds of thousands of dollars. I am rich because of my skills. So, today I will teach you seven skills that I have mastered.

There are seven skills you need to understand and master if you want to be rich. As I learn each skill, I want you to ask yourself the question, comment below, and rate yourself from zero to 10. Of course, zero is awful, like you suck, and 10 is world-class. So, here are 7 Skills That Will Make You Rich according to the wealthiest person in the world:

Skill number one: the ability to speak persuasively to customers.

I call it the Closing skill. Do you know how to close it? Can you articulate the value of what you do to your potential clients? Do you know how to ask powerful questions that compel people to buy?

Are you comfortable talking to strangers, presenting your ideas, and demonstrating your products or services? Closing skills are one of the most important, if not the most essential, skills you need to master to be rich.

When you talk to a customer, you are closing. When you talk to vendors, try to persuade them to give you better terms; guess what? You are closing.

When you talk to your employees, you are closing. So, that's skill number one.

Skill number two will make you rich, which is the ability to speak to groups.

I call them public speaking skills. Do you know the number one fear most people have in life?

It wasn't a snake, and it wasn't even death. But, most people have the most common fear is public speaking. Now, why so many people, why are they afraid to talk to groups?

Most of the time, they are worried about whether they will sound stupid or how they will look, or they are afraid because they might say something wrong.

All these things, but you see great leaders, almost all great leaders, who are great public speakers, like Steve Jobs, right? Like Tony Robbins and Warren Buffett.

One of my life-changing skills was public speaking. So when I joined Toastmasters a few years ago because I wanted to improve my English and reduce my accent, I improved myself through public speaking.

I developed self-confidence, self-confidence, through public speaking.

  • So ask yourself, are you afraid to talk to a group?
  • Do you know how to present your idea to a group?
  • Can you communicate with confidence and certainty?
  • Can you interact with your audience?
  • Maybe your palms are sweaty.
  • Maybe you are like me; at first, your face will be pale, and your knees will be locked.

It doesn't matter.

This is a skill that can be learned, but in order to become rich, public speaking is one of the most valuable skills you must master.

The third skill that will make you rich is the ability to communicate in printed words, or what I call printed persuasion.

I call it your copywriting skills.

Now, notice that I said copywriting skills.

Now, copywriting, which I'm not talking about, is all grammatically correct. Although that's fine to do, I'm not talking about what you learn in school or academic writing. I'm talking about communication.

I'm talking about, maybe it's your web page, your video. I'm talking about your email. How do you communicate with the written word?

Now, why is this so important? Because, in daily communication, the emails you send, all your social media posts, agreements, contracts, your loan posts, or your blog. A lot of it is written communication, and when you know how to communicate effectively through the written word, it gives you enormous leverage.

Let me give you a perfect example:

Suppose you create a social media post, and you have a decent number of followers, which gives you influence because of what you see and write, which is seen by hundreds of people, thousands of people.

In my case, it could be millions of people. In fact, copywriting was the first skill I developed as a young Dan Lok, and it is the skill that changed my life.

How I went from losing money and not making enough to making $10,000 a month in my early 20s.

So, copywriting. Now it is not taught in schools.

School taught us to write, but it didn't teach us copywriting, so that's still number three, the ability to communicate with the printed word.

Skill number four: and that is the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with your team.

I'm talking about your leadership skills. To be an effective leader, you must be an effective communicator.

Do you know what your company vision is, and do you communicate it with your team members? Do you communicate clearly, the vision to your team? Do you know how to create a cultural item in your organization?

You see, these are all leadership skills. Business is not a single sport. Business is not only an intellectual sport. It is also a team sport.

It is an organization. You are only as good as your team. It is very, very important to develop those leadership skills to inspire, motivate and lead your team.

Skill number five: and that is the ability to organize and manage your time for maximum results.

Some people refer to it as time management. I call it priority management because, at the end of the day, we all only have 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year.

You can't really set the time because we all have the same amount of time.

What you can manage, however, is your priority. What are the important things you should focus on? One of the important things that will move the needle, which will help you get closer to your goal.

The thing is, school never taught us how we set our priorities, right?

You do your homework, your exams, you take care of your family, you do a lot of different things, but most people will never take the time to slow down and see what we do and ask ourselves, okay, why am I doing this? At all?

What is the result of this activity?

We never ask ourselves those deep questions, and, in the end, the real management priority is self-management.

How do you organize yourself? And, if every day, you can manage your time efficiently and effectively, and you focus on just a few things, that two or three things you know if you keep doing them consistently, will get you the results you want.

So rich people understand that and realize the value of their time, and that's why they avoid, what I call, minimum wage activity. If someone can get the job done, it costs less than valuable time, and we delegate it.

So, that's skill number five.

Skill number six: and that is the ability to read financial statements.

I call them financial literacy skills. Now this skill is not taught in schools. At school, how do we measure how good we are? Your school card. Did you get 'A,' 'B,' or 'C'?

In the real world, in the business world, we look at financial statements. Your financial statements it's your scorecard. This tells us how good you are financial. How well do you manage your money?

Now, you're probably thinking, "Well, Dan, are you asking me to be an accountant, or take accounting courses, or be a bookkeeper, things like that?"

No, but you need to understand the language of money. Financial literacy that's the language of money and how money works. Your balance sheet, your income statement, and your cash flow statement.

When you look at that statement, you look at the numbers, and you're like, "Oh my God, man, I don't know what's going on," or, "I didn't make enough money this year in this poll," or, "I have a loss this year in business," or can you read between the lines?

What did he tell me? What's the story? How do I manage my money, right? And you need to understand the basics of some of this money vocabulary: credit score, return on investment, profit and loss, capital gain, capital loss, and depreciation.

Many of these words that's what you should understand. You can't improve something you don't measure. So, financial literacy, and it's a very, very important skill you must know, sir, if you want to be rich.

Skill number seven: it is the most important skill of all, and it is the ability to organize your own thoughts.

I call it your mindset skill. Frustration, negativity, fear, envy, depression, limiting beliefs, procrastination.

How do you manage your emotions? How do you organize your thoughts? You know, you can get the other six skills right, and you can master the other six skills, but if your mindset isn't right, it won't work.

I've said it many times; in that book that Napoleon Hill wrote, it's called Think and Grow Rich, part of thinking is organizing your thoughts.

What do you eat in your mind?

How many times have you known exactly what you needed to do to achieve your goals, to achieve results, but you couldn't bring yourself to do it because of procrastination.

Perhaps, how many times in your life have opportunities slipped through your fingers, and you couldn't bring yourself to go forward and take action because of self-limiting beliefs.

Or, how about, how many times have you found out that other people believe in you, but you don't believe in yourself because of self-limiting beliefs.

Those are all mindset skills.

Well, those are the seven skills that will make you rich. Lao Tzu said, "Knowing others is intelligence, but knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is power, but mastering yourself is true power."
